About Shopping Centre De Burcht
The shopping centre was outdated, poorly maintained, and many shops were empty. Renewing, expanding and changing the retail mix was necessary for the mall's viability.
In 2014, De Burcht shopping centre was renovated and converted into a modern indoor shopping centre of approximately 8,000 square meters with a diverse range of more than 33 shops.
The shopping centre has a complete mix of retail chains, local entrepreneurs and a nice range of fresh products. Parking cars is very well organized with over more than 100 parking spaces around the center and totaly free of charged.
For the realization of the renovation and expansion of the shopping centre, it was also necessary to adapt the parking around the shopping centre. To create extra parking spaces, the area of the former Porsche garage, located next to the shopping center, has been fully equipped as a publicly accessible parking lot. In consultation with the municipality, the implementation of the development plan for the surrounding public area was further examined.
Specifically, the optimization of the number of parking spaces in combination with road safety around the loading and unloading area of the supermarkets was examined. This redevelopment has been carried out by the municipality and has also included the addition of greenery, public lighting, the construction of cycle paths and new street furniture.
