About Grote Markt 4
Characteristic building on one of the most famous squares in The Hague: De Grote Markt. The building was bought years ago with the aim of a thorough redevelopment.
At the time of purchase, the building was let to one tenant. However, only the ground floor, the 1st floor and the basement were in use, with Bart Smit (later Intertoys). The upper 2nd to 4th floors were empty but belonged to “the rented property”. Plans were shared with the tenant at the time to fill the entire building with functions that fit on the De Grote Markt square. But it was only after the departure of tenant Bart Smit/ Intertoys that Urban Interest could really get started with the realization.
Nowadays Gamestate has the ground and 1st floor of this special building in use. Gamestate is a game center, where young and old can have fun with innovative slot machines. Our real estate specialists have also succeeded in filling in the 2nd to 4th floor with a trendy hostel, entirely in line with the facilities needed of the square and the city center.
To achieve this, the entire building was renovated both inside and outside. A new elevation point with elevator and stairs has been realized on the outside. The entire building has new window frames and the outer wall (of masonry) has been completely cleaned. Indoor moving walks have been installed for Gamestate. And the other floors have been furnished for the benefit of the hostel with rooms, general areas and even terraces.
