Extensive energy transition of 129 apartments in IJsselmonde in Rotterdam

7 April 2021

In the IJsselmonde district in Rotterdam, Urban Interest, together with Rendon Maintenance Group and Sweco, is starting a large-scale energy transition of 129 apartments. The houses, divided into four residential complexes, date from the 1960’s and will receive thorough maintenance aimed at improving the living comfort and increasing the value of the property.

Energy company Vattenfall will supply (residual) heat in the homes for both hot water and central heating. As a replacement of the existing gas-fired central heating boilers (block heating) and electric boilers. In addition, the houses will receive; HR ++ glazing and insulation pearls in the cavity walls, wood rock remediation will take place and we will do a lot of painting on, among other things, window frames, windows, doors, balconies and the concrete thickness sides. This will not only make the complexes look beautiful again, residents will benefit enormously in terms of living comfort. After this upgrade the complexes will be categorized under energy label B, where they still have label G or even H at this moment. An enormous progress that we look forward to together with all involved.
